Welcome to the SchoolDataDirect Data Download tool. Below, you can download files containing the data displayed on SchoolDataDirect.org. Downloading data from SchoolDataDirect.org allows you to access data for every state in a consistent format, eliminating the need to obtain and standardize many different datasets.
The files are in a flat, pipe-delimited format and contain the different types of data available on SchoolDataDirect (including student performance data, No Child Left Behind data, school environment data, financial data, community demographic data and analytical ratios). Some of the files contain too many records to be opened fully in spreadsheet applications, so it is recommended that you use statistical analysis software to work with the files. If you are interested in downloading a small amount of data, use the Create Your Own Table tool, also available on this website.
Use the index of files below to find the files that you want to download. Click on the file name to start downloading the file. Some files are large (6-7MB). Please note the file size before downloading. For more information on downloading files, see our guide on How to Download Data.
Please read our guide on Interpreting the Data which contains important information about the data contained in the data download files. This guide includes the state-specific information that is also available in the website's glossary, as well as additional information on data labels, calculations and anomalies.
For additional information, see our guides on Abbreviations, Data Sources, Data Definitions, State Test Performance Levels, AYP Targets, Graduation Rates and SchoolDataDirect Analytics.
